VERIM High-Performance Computing for Machine Learning

LISTEN

Tutorial I: Machine Learning with Google Colab

Learn to utilize Pandas, Numpy and Matplotlib and to implement basic ML classifiers (kNN, random forest); train a machine learning system

to learn how to classify digits (MNIST data set), on Google Colab.

When: Feb 27 & March 6 @ 7:30-9:30 pm

Where: FENS G032

Presenter(s): VERİM UndergradSQUAD (Kerem Yıldırır, Barış Sevilmiş, Yiğit Aras Tunalı)

Target Audience: Anyone familiar with ML and want to be able to use Python to develop their own systems…

The emphasis will be on using Google CoLab, while the ML approaches will be covered very briefly.

Tutorial II: High Performance Computing Cluster @ SU Learn the basics of Tensorflow and Keras and how to use the HPC cluster on campus for machine learning tasks or other computational needs in general.

When: March 13 @ 7:30-9:30 pm

Where: FENS G032

Presenter(s): VERİM UndergradSQUAD (Kerem Yıldırır, Barış Sevilmiş, Yiğit Aras Tunalı)

Target Audience: Any SU member who wants to use the HPC cluster for their research.

Tutorial III: Deep Learning on HPC

Apply transfer learning (use the knowledge in pretrained networks to a

different but related problem)

When: March 20 & March 27 @ 7:30-9:30 pm

Where: FENS G032

Presenter(s): VERİM UndergradSQUAD (Kerem Yıldırır, Barış Sevilmiş, Yiğit Aras Tunalı)

Target Audience: Anyone familiar with Deep Learning and want to be able to use to use the HPC cluster to

develop their own deep learning system. The tutorial will cover the basic elements of Convolutional Neural

Networks (CNNs) briefly and will concentrate on running the computing job at the HPC.
